Ravena, Tio tow Ateneo to victory vs. UP

Thirdy Ravena had 16 points, while Tyler Tio was perfect from the field as the Ateneo Blue Eagles overwhelmed the UP Fighting Maroons, 92-71, on Wednesday.

Seven points from Anton Asistio have Ateneo a 22-16 edge after the opening period, as the Eagles made sure to answer every UP make. At the half, Ateneo was ahead 44-36.

Ravena then led the charge for the Eagles in the third, stringing nine points, before Tio took over in the final minutes, hitting 10 of Ateneo’s 30 point to put the game away.

Aaron Black and Chi Ikeh tallied nine points each, while Anton Asistio, Matt Nieto, and Raffy Verano scored seven apiece.

UP, meanwhile, was led by Juan Gomez De Liano with 16 points, as Jun Manzo added 14 in a starting role. Jarrell Lim had 10, while last weekend’s hero Paul Desiderio was limited to just nine points off a 4 of 18 clip. —JST, GMA News
