Kapuso star Andre Paras solid in return to basketball

After a two-year layoff, Andre Paras made a successful return to the hardcourt.

The Kapuso actor, who was last seen as part of Encantadia, debuted for AMA Online Education in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup against Cignal.

Despite AMA's 86-76 defeat, Paras tallied a solid line of five points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and five blocks in his first outing.

"Honestly I'm really surprised because I just really wanted to help my team on defense ‘cause I believe defense wins games. The game just came to me," Paras said in a report by Jan Ballesteros on Spin.PH.

Paras played for University of the Philippines in the UAAP for one year, before transferring to San Beda. However, showbiz commitments have kept him out of the hardcourt.

Paras assured that his basketball career wouldn't come in conflict with his showbiz work.

"There's no confict," he said.  "I don't miss practice and anything with work. Flexible naman. I won't be in this situation if I know magsa-suffer yung team kasi parati akong absent. Everyone respects each other at pagdating sa basketball, we treat each other as players, walang favoritism. Walang star." —JST, GMA News
