James Yap scored 15 points to lead a balanced attack in Rain or Shine's 107-93 victory over Blackwater on Friday.

Yap, who joined the Elasto Painters in a trade for Paul Lee prior to the season, led seven players with at least eight points for Rain or Shine, whose record improved to 3-1.

Raymond Almazan scored 14 points and grabbed 16 rebounds while frontcourt partner Jewel Ponferada had 13 and six. Jeff Chan and Don Trollano scored 11 points apiece for the Elasto Painters, who bounced back from their first defeat in the Philippine Cup last Sunday against Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.

"The difference in this game is we're moving the ball better," said Rain or Shine coach Caloy Garcia. "Lagi kong ine-emphasize 'yung ball movement."

Raymond Aguilar led Blackwater with 15 points. Rookie Mac Belo chipped in 13 points, while Arthur Dela Cruz and James Sena added 12 each for the Elite, which suffered its second straight defeat after opening the season with two victories. —JST, GMA News
