LA Tenorio named Governors' Cup final MVP for Ginebra

Often the littlest man on the court for Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, LA Tenorio stood tallest among the local Gin Kings on Wednesday.

The pint-sized point guard won Most Valuable Player honors in the finals during Ginebra's ascent to the Governors' Cup throne.

Tenorio averaged 17.2 points, 4.4 assists, and 3.8 rebounds in the series. He saved the best for the series-clinching Game Six, scoring 20 points in the third period to fuel Ginebra's comeback against Meralco.

"Hindi ko makukuha 'tong MVP kundi sa mga teammates ko," said Tenorio after receiving the award.

The prize comes as an extra bonus for Tenorio, whose wife is set to give birth to a baby on Friday.

"Double celebration 'to sa akin. Sana ipagdasal niyo rin yung baby boy ko," he added. —JST, GMA News
