TNT import Ivan Johnson suspended 1 game, fined 50k for tuneup fight
TNT import Ivan Johnson has been suspended for one game and fined P50,000 after figuring in an altercation during a tune-up game against Blackwater last week.
In a phone interview Wednesdau, PBA Media Bureau chief Willie Marcial said Johnson is also not allowed to participate in any more tune-up games until he serves his suspension.
"Puwede siyang mag-practice pero sila-sila lang, hindi puwedeng kasama 'yung ibang team," he said.
Incidentally, TNT's first game of the Commissioner's Cup is against Blackwater.
According to a report by Spin.ph, the Tropang Texter reinforcement was involved in a fight against Elite players JP Erram and Frank Golla.
The scrimmage was halted by the referees due to the commotion.
Last season, Johnson also figured in several run-ins with PBA players and coaches.
He was fined P150,000 for bumping into Rain or Shine head coach Yeng Guiao in the finals, and also figured in post-game altercations against Alaska coach Alex Compton and Star forward Marc Pingris. — RSJ/JST, GMA News
