PBA: Castro tallies 28 as TNT escapes Mahindra

Jayson Castro had 28 points to lead the Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters past the Mahindra Enforcers, 101-97, on Friday at the MOA Arena in Pasay City.

Rookie Mo Tautuaa added 12 points, while Larry Fonacier and Ryan Fonacier contricuted 11 points and 10 rebounds. Ryan Reyes had 10 to round up the starters in double figures. Other rookie Troy Rosario added 12 points off the bench, while Jau Reyes had 10.

The Enforcers led by four at the 6:33 mark of the fourth after an LA Revilla trey, but six straight from Jayson Castro and a triple from Larry Fonacier put TNT ahead by five with 4:29 left, 92-88.

The Texters stretched the gap to as much as seven points with two and a half minutes remaining, before Revilla and Hyram Bagatsing made it interesting by making it a two-point game entering the final minute, 99-97.

KG Canaleta then attempted a three with 30 seconds left but missed, as Jai Reyes hit two from the line to put the game away.

LA Revilla had a stellar outing with 21 points and nine rebounds while Bradwyn Guinto had a solid outing with 17 markers and 13 boards. Aldrech Ramos and Chito Jaime had 13 and 12 points, respectively. - GMA News
