Terrence Romeo set to be crowned PBA scoring king after explosive year

After his explosive performance the past season, GlobalPort guard Terrence Romeo is set to be honored as the Scoring Champion in the annual PBA Press Corps (PBAPC) Awards Night on Wednesday at the Century Park Hotel, Manila.

Romeo, who was hailed as the Most Improved Player during the Leo Awards last July, averaged 19.7 points per game in the league's 40th season to succeed Talk 'N Text's Jayson Castro as the PBA's most prolific scorer.
The Gilas Pilipinas rookie led the local players in scoring in the last two conferences, averaging 20.8 points in the Commissioner's Cup and 22.2 points in the Governors' Cup.
Rain or Shine's Paul Lee, meanwhile, will receive the Order of Merit Award as the player with the most Accel-PBAPC Player of the Week citations during the season with four.
San Miguel Beer's Alex Cabagnot will be hailed as the William "Bogs" Adornado Comeback Player of the Year for his vital role in the Beermen's two championships this season.
The PBAPC also named the All-Rookie Team led by top draft pick and Rookie of the Year awardee Stanley Pringle, together with Alaska's Chris Banchero, Tropang Texters' Matt Ganuelas-Rosser, Elasto Painters' Jericho Cruz, and Barako Bull Energy's Jake Pascual.
Other awards to be given include the Defensive Player of the Year, Mr. Quality Minutes (Sixth Man of the Year), Virgilio Baby Dalupan Coach of the Year, and Danny Floro Executive of the Year. —JST, GMA News
