Reigning Most Valuable Player Stephen Curry visited the Philippines for the first time on Saturday.
The Golden State Warriors guard came to Manila for the second stop of his Under Armour Asian tour after going to Tokyo, Japan. He conducted a basketball clinic for high school kids at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The down-to-earth Curry seemed to enjoy instructing young ballers in the art of ball-handling, acting like a hands-on teacher as he challenged and praised the kids.
Curry competed - and won - in a shootout against one of the better shooters in the clinic, and also broke some sweat joining a 15-minute scrimmage with the players.
The two-time FIBA World Cup champion interacted animatedly with Filipino fans, voluntarily approaching the sidelines for autographs and handshakes. He frequently waved to the stands and even hugged several children, promising to be back for a second visit.
Curry is set to fly to China next for the continuation for his tour, with Chinese cities Beijing, Chongqing, and Shanghai as his last three stops before going back to the United States. - JST, GMA News
