Yaya Dub won't be a muse for any PBA team, says Eat Bulaga exec

Sorry, basketball fans...

Yaya Dub, Maine Mendoza in real life, won't be part of the opening ceremonies of the PBA season as a muse.

TAPE Inc. executive vice president Malou Choa-Fagar, who helps manage the career of Mendoza, told "24 Oras" on Friday that the Dubsmash Queen won't be a muse for any PBA team this year.

TAPE is the production company behind Eat Bulaga, which has seen record ratings because of its kalye-serye featuring the tandem of Yaya Dub and Alden Richards.

Because of her popularity, fans have clamored for her to serve as a muse in the PBA.

Barangay Ginebra San Miguel team executive Alfrancis Chua earlier said that he'll bring the issue up with the team, while Mahindra playing coach Manny Pacquiao also confirmed his team's interest in having her as his team's muse.

Ginebra players LA Tenorio, Japeth Aguilar, and Jayjay Helterbrand also admitted being fans of the AlDub phenomenon and had wished that Mendoza would be with the team for the opening ceremonies. —JST, GMA News
