Sixers waive former Gilas prospect McGee

The Philadelphia 76ers waived center JaVale McGee.

McGee was acquired before the Feb. 19 trade deadline from Denver in a deal that netted Philadelphia a 2015 first-round pick.

McGee is averaging 4.6 points and 2.7 rebounds this season in only 23 games.

He will not forfeit any of his $11.2 million salary for this season or any of his $12 million salary for next season, USA Today reported. - Reuters
