PBA: GlobalPort stuns Talk 'N Text behind Terrence Romeo's explosion

Terrence Romeo broke out of a shooting slump in a big way, scoring 30 big points to lead the GlobalPort Batang Pier to a 105-97 victory over Talk 'N Text on Tuesday at SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

 

"Sa wakas nakapanalo rin ng big games," said GlobalPort coach Pido Jarencio, whose team's previous victories in the conference came against bottom-dwellers Barako Bull, Kia, and Blackwater.

 

"Sabi ko five games 'to, mabibigat mga kalaban natin beginning today. Mag-step up tayo, level ng laro natin itaas natin, which is nagrespond naman sila."

 

After exploding for 33 points in his first game in the 2015 Philippine Cup, Romeo had struggled, scoring a total of just 19 points in his next four games.

 

He found his shooting touch at the perfect time for GlobalPort, which improved its record to 4-3 after the victory in a tie with Talk 'N Text.

Romeo and Ronjay Buenafe combined for all of the Batang Pier's points in a backbreaking 15-3 run that gave GlobalPort a commanding 104-94 lead late in the game.
