PBA: Meralco gets Sean Anthony in three-way deal with NLEX, Blackwater

A three-team trade among Blackwater Elite, NLEX, and Meralco was approved by the PBA on Friday afternoon, with star forward Sean Anthony ending up with the Bolts.

 

NLEX acquired Perpetual Help player and top NCAA scorer Juneric Baloria from Blackwater, in addition to Elite's 2016 and 2017 second rounds picks in exchange for Anthony.

 

Blackwater then traded Anthony to Meralco to get the services of Sunday Salvacion and Jason Ballesteros.

 

Anthony was a key player last season for Air 21, whose PBA franchise was purchased by NLEX. The Road Warriors and the Bolts cannot trade directly as sister teams, necessitating the involvement of Blackwater in the deal.

 

Salvacion and Ballesteros will bolster Elite's frontcourt for the Season 40 of the PBA, which will start in five weeks. — Marisse Panaligan/JST, GMA News
