Kevin Alas couldn't help but break down after his name was announced as the second overall pick in the 2014 PBA draft.
The former Letran hotshot was selected by the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, who are looking to beef up their backcourt amid continuing contract issues involving star guard Paul Lee.
"Siyempre masayang-masaya ako for this opportunity," said Alas, adding that it is every player's dream to play in the PBA.
His mother Liza was also emotional as she said her only dream was seeing her sons Kevin and Junjun drafted.

"I'm lost for words, I'm just very happy and proud of my kids," she said.
"It's great seeing all his dreams coming to reality right now."
Junjun was later drafted in the second round by the Alaska Aces, where their father Louie works as an assistant coach.
That means that Louie and Kevin will be on opposite sides of the court for the first time when the new PBA season begins.
Louie joked that the advantage is still with him, since he knows the game of his son very well.
"Hindi ko na kailangan mag scout pag kalaban ko Rain or Shine," said Louie, who coached Kevin at Letran. — JST, GMA News
