Mark Caguioa fined by the PBA for critical tweets

Barangay Ginebra San Miguel star Mark Caguioa set off some sparks thanks to some of his tweets, and the PBA was not happy about it.

The league announced Wednesday that it has fined Caguioa P20,000 for "tweeting and issuing statements to media critical of officiating and considered inimical to the interest of the PBA."

In a statement on the league's official Twitter account, the league also admonished Caguioa, saying, that "as the leader of his ballclub and a stalwart of the league," Caguioa should have "ventilated his issues to the league office directly for proper remedial action."

Below are some of the tweets the league was probably referring to, in which Caguioa questioned some of the referees' foul calls and a lack of traveling violations.

Caguioa's Ginebra team is in a tie for second-to-last place with a 1-3 record, having just lost back-to-back games to Barako Bull Energy Cola and the Alaska Aces.
