NBA: Kings acquire Mbah a Moute from Bucks for picks
The Sacramento Kings acquired hard-nosed defender Luc Richard Mbah a Moute via a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks, Tuesday (Wednesday, PHL time), Ken Berger of CBS Sports reported.
The Kings merely had to give up two future second-round picks to acquire the defensive specialist, who is still signed for $9 million over two more seasons.
After seeing action in all 82 games of the Bucks in his rookie season (08-09), Mbah a Moute saw his playing time slowly decrease. Last season, he got onto the court in just 58 regular season games, but still put up 6.7 points and 4.4 rebounds.
Despite allowing Mike Dunleavy Jr. to walk during the offseason, the Bucks still had a glut of forwards on their roster, including Ersan Ilyasova, Drew Gooden, Ekpe Udoh, Larry Sanders, John Henson and Gustavo Ayon. They also signed big man Zaza Pachulia from the Atlanta Hawks.
On the Kings' end, Mbah a Moute is an upgrade over the likes of Travis Outlaw, James Johnson and John Salmons, whom the team is reportedly looking to use amnesty clause on. - AMD, GMA News
