History pointed to the Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters sweeping the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters in their best-of-seven Philippine Cup Finals series, and the team did not disappoint, beating Rain or Shine 105-82, Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The win made it three straight Philippine Cup titles for TnT, and four out of five, dating back to their 2008-09 campaign. But former head coach Chot Reyes pointed out a unique numerical coincidence centered around the number of games the Texters needed to defeat their foes, Wednesday on Twitter, tweeting prior to tip-off, "7 games in '09 All-Fil vs Alaska, 6 in '11 AFC vs Petron, 5 in '12 AFC vs Powerade, ? in '13 AFC for HIST3?" Back in the 2008-09 Philippine Cup, Talk 'N Text won in seven games against the Alaska Aces, rallying from a 3-2 deficit. The Texters were unable to defend their title in the 2009-10 season, but they came back the next year to beat the San Miguel Beermen in six games, taking the lead after a 2-2 series tie.
