PBA: B-MEG trips Air21, end two-game slide


B-MEG snapped out of its two-game slide as it defeated Air21, 88-79, in a PBA Commissioner's Cup road game Saturday at the Tacloban Convention Center in Tacloban City, Leyte. The Llamados, who dropped two straight games after a 3-0 start, now join idle Alaska in second place behind the still undefeated and defending champion Talk 'N Text. B-MEG will next face sister team Ginebra on March 11 then battles Alaska on March 16. The Llamados take on the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters on March 21 before ending their campaign against Philippine Cup finalist Powerade on March 25. It was a tight first half with Air21 holding on to a 38-37 lead at the turn. The Express even enjoyed a 55-50 advantage early in the third. B-MEG, behind import Denzel Bowles, went on a 14-4 run to end the third quarter with a 64-59 edge entering the final period. The Llamados just cruised along from there and even posted an 18-point lead, 85-67, with three minutes and 54 seconds left in the game. The Express dropped to 1-2, losing their second straight game after opening the conference with a 97-88 win over the Barako Bull Energy last month. — JVP, GMA News
