Is Viola Davis interested to enter politics in real life? Hollywood actress answers
Viola Davis, who is best known for playing Annalise Keating in the legal drama "How to Get Away with Murder," is set to play the President of the United States in her upcoming movie "G20."
In Lyn Ching's report on "24 Oras," Monday, the award-winning actress was asked if she is ready to enter politics given her role as a politician in the movie.
"Absolutely not. Like full stop, exclamation point, emojis, everything. Absolutely not. No," Viola answered.
With the movie packed with action scenes, how does Viola find strength to take on her role?
According to her, it's the love for her husband and daughter as well as her curiosity in life are what keeps her standing.
"Curiosity about what life has in store for me. Especially as, you know, I'm entering, I don't know how many decades in this business. I'm curious as to how my career will unfold and how I'll unfold within it. It is so much fun shooting an action movie," she said, thanking her personal trainers who helped her in the film.
"It reminds you of why you fell in love with it to begin with. That sort of stepping into the make-believe and making it believable. And also challenging the notions of what a girl can and cannot do. I love it," Viola added.
The American actress also gave some words to ponder about real-life heroes who have the power to change the world.
"You know, heroes exist. And they exist in so many different forms. There are people out there who are capable of changing the world. And they have the strength to do it. And they have the heart to do it," she said.
Directed by Patricia Riggen, "G20" follows US President Taylor Sutton (Viola) who must defend her family and the world when a G20 summit in Cape Town is taken over by terrorists.
It will premiere on April 10 via Prime Video. —Jade Veronique Yap/MGP, GMA Integrated News
