Beomgyu of TXT announces solo project 'Beomgyu’s Mixtape: Panic'
CBG1 is coming!
TXT’s Choi Beomgyu announced his upcoming solo debut “Beomgyu’s Mixtape: Panic” on March 27.
In a Weverse notice Sunday, the upcoming mixtape was described to “capture his distinct musical colors and personal story with a powerful rockband sound.”
In a short hand-written letter posted by Beomgyu on Weverse Saturday, the K-pop star explained he wanted to tell stories he was unable to as a member of K-pop group Tomorrow x Together.
“More people than you’d expect spend their days feeling like they’ve lost their way, suffocating as if they’re walking through a long tunnel. There were days that brought this kind of darkness to me as well, and I endured that period of time by listening to music that I liked,” Beomgyu said in his letter.
“The way I gained a great amount of comfort through music, I believe that somebody else will also find solace in my voice and my stories. I sincerely wish that my song reaches the depths of your heart and becomes the strength for you to keep walking forward,” he added.
The cover image of his mixtape featured 5 hand-drawn dandelions, which fans speculated was meant to represent the 5 members of TXT.
The project was first teased during the group’s final “Act: Promise Episode 2” concert in Incheon on March 9 with the word “May…” popping on the screen.
The project was teased again with an Instagram post of Beomgyu producing a song during his birthday on March 13.
“To be continued..” the post’s caption read.
“Beomgyu’s Mixtape: Panic” is the second solo debut released by a member of TXT, shortly after Yeonjun’s “Ggum” in September 2024.
TXT is currently in the middle of the European leg of their world tour, “Act: Promise Episode 2.”
