Court affirms ADOR's status as NewJeans' exclusive agency

The Seoul Central District Court has ruled in favor of ADOR, prohibiting NewJeans from performing as NJZ and participating in projects without the agency's approval.

In a statement sent to press, ADOR confirmed NewJeans' appearance at Hong Kong's ComplexCon this weekend, guaranteeing "the performance is presented under the NewJeans name. We eagerly anticipate meeting with the artists for a heartfelt conversation at the earliest opportunity."

"With our status as NewJeans' exclusive agency now legally affirmed, we are fully committed to supporting the artists going forward," it said, as it expressed gratitude "for the court's judicious decision to grant the preliminary injunction."

In November, NewJeans announced its termination of contract with ADOR, a subsidiary of HYBE. According to Hanni, the decision resulted from alleged mistreatment of the members and staff, miscommunication, and manipulation against them.

At that time, Danielle said NewJeans plans to continue with their schedules and aims to release new music and meet fans worldwide.

In December, ADOR filed a lawsuit against the girl group it had launched in 2022. NewJeans in January said it aimed to file a counter lawsuit.

In a September 2024 YouTube video, NewJeans lashed out against ADOR and HYBE, calling for the reinstatement of their mentor Min Hee Jin.
