Kim Soo Hyun files complaints against Kim Sae Ron’s family, YouTube channel

Kim Soo Hyun has filed complaints against Kim Sae Ron’s family and Hoverlab, the YouTube channel that reported on their relationship when the actress was still underage.
As reported by The Korea Times, a law firm representing Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, said it has filed a complaint against Hoverlab’s operator and Kim Sae Ron’s bereaved family, “accusing them of distributing private photos in violation of a law against sexual crimes.”
The YouTube channel earlier released private photos of the two actors together, which was allegedly given to them by the late actress’ family. One photo showed Kim Soo Hyun without pants.
According to the The Korea Times report, “The law firm claimed that the image could be sexually insulting and should never have been released to the public.”
In a statement released earlier this week, Gold Medalist denied that Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron were in a long-term relationship that started from when she was still a minor.
The agency said they only started a relationship in 2019 when she became an adult, and that it lasted until 2020.
Gold Medalist had also denied that the actor harassed Kim Sae Ron.
Following the harassment denial, Kim Sae Ron's family filed a defamation lawsuit against YouTuber Lee Jin Ho, accusing him of disseminating false information about the actress that put her in a negative light and which they believe played a part in her death.
The family also called for a public apology from Kim Soo Hyun, and for him to acknowledge their past relationship.
Kim Soo Hyun is known for starring in "Queen of Tears," "It's Okay To Not Be Okay," and "My Love from the Star."
He was in the Philippines in 2024 for a fan meet.
Meanwhile, Kim Sae Ron was also managed by Gold Medalist. She parted ways with the company months after being caught driving under the influence of alcohol.
She died in February at the age of 24.
Kim Sae Ron was known for her roles in the films “A Brand New Life,” and “The Man From Nowhere.” She also appeared in the series “Hi! School Love On,” “Can You Hear my Heart,” and “The Queen’s Classroom,” among others.
