Seventeen's Wonwoo to enlist in military on April 3

Seventeen's Wonwoo will be starting his mandatory military service on April 3, the band’s record label Pledis Entertainment announced on Weverse.

The agency said that there will be no official event on the day of Wonwoo’s enlistment, and advised fans to refrain from visiting the military service site.

“Please send your heartfelt messages of support for WONWOO through Weverse,” the announcement said.

Wonwoo will be unable to take part in Seventeen's Tecate Pa'l Norte 2025 music festival in Mexico and a fan meeting in Japan, which are both scheduled for April, Pledis added.

However, he will still be part of the Seventeen in Carat Land fan meeting on March 20 and 21 in Incheon, South Korea. He will also be appearing in various pre-recorded content.

“We ask for your continued love and support for the artist until his safe and healthy return. We will also stay committed to providing WONWOO with all the necessary support during this time. Thank you.”

Fellow member Jeonghan enlisted in 2024 and is currently undergoing his mandatory military service.

Meanwhile, S. Coups was exempted from service due to a knee injury from 2023. Jun has also not been participating in group activities as he pursues an acting career.

Seventeen was last in the country in January for their Right Here tour. They had a two-night concert at the Philippines Sports Stadium in Bulacan.

Their latest mini album “Spill the Feels” dropped in 2024, which features a collaboration with DJ Khaled, “Love, Money, Fame.” —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
