Michelle Trachtenberg's 'Gossip Girl' co-stars Blake Lively, Chace Crawford, more mourn her passing

Michelle Trachtenberg's former co-stars from “Gossip Girl” and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" paid tribute to the actress following her untimely passing on Wednesday.

Blake Lively, known for her role as Serena van der Woodsen in "Gossip Girl," wrote a heartfelt tribute message to the late actress. Michelle is known for playing the iconic Georgina Sparks in the series.

In her Instagram Story, Blake shared a photo of her and Michelle on the set of the show, which she said was their first-ever meeting.

“She was electricity. You knew when she entered a room because the vibration changed. Everything she did, she did 200%,” Blake wrote.

She remembered Michelle for her laugh, for being assertive, for being a hard-working actress, and for being “big and bold and distinctly herself.”

“And she always had yummy caramel smelling lipgloss on because she didn’t just want to sparkle on camera, she liked creating a nice experience for anyone who was in her orbit, even down to the subtle smell of her lipgloss because she cared about the sweet details."

She also described the late actress as a “a kind person, through and through."

"Time passes. You take for granted that you get the chance to see an old friend. To paraphrase, the real tragedies in life are the ones that blindside you on an idle Tuesday. Hold those you love and have loved dear. The world lost a deeply sensitive and good person in Michelle. May her work and her huge heart be remembered by those who were lucky enough to experience her fire," she said.

Chace Crawford, who played the role of Nate Archibald in “Gossip Girl," shared some snaps of him with Michelle, including an adorable photo of them on set, as well.

In his caption, he described Michelle as “one of a kind.”

“I remember her coming on set for the first time and just absolutely owning it. She was a force of nature and just so so unapologetically funny and magnetic... Remembering those years with a big smile. Just a terrible loss. Love you,” he wrote.

Ed Westwick, famously known as Chuck Bass in “Gossip Girl,” also took the time to honor their beloved Georgina Sparks.

In his Instagram Story, Ed simply shared a photo of Michelle from one of the scenes in the series and wrote: “So sad to hear the passing of Michelle Trachtenberg. Sending prayers.”

Michelle's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" co-stars also honored her memory. She joined the show in 2000 as Dawn Summers, the sister of Buffy.

James Marsters, who played Spike in the supernatural drama series, shared an old photo of them together in his touching post.

“My heart is heavy today. We have lost a beautiful soul. Michelle was fiercely intelligent, howlingly funny, and a very talented person. She died much too young, and leaves behind scores of people who knew and loved her,” he wrote.

He also extended his condolences to Michelle’s family, who are “suffering the greatest loss anyone could bear” and hoped that everyone can have the time to heal after the tragedy.

“Godspeed Michelle. You are missed,” he added.

Fellow “Buffy” star David Boreanaz, who played the role of Angel in the series, also remembered the late actress.

In his Instagram Story, David reposted a photo of Michelle and wrote: “So very sad… Horrible news. RIP and prayers to her and her family.”

Another “Buffy” star, Emma Caulfield, took to Instagram Stories to mourn the death of their “little sister." Emma played demon-turned-human Anya Jenkins in the show.

“I’m so sorry your bright light died so young. Our Buffy family lost a little sister today. Rest in peace lovely Mish Mish. You were loved.”

In a separate Instagram post, Emma shared a photo of them with other cast members of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and wrote, “Sleep Well Michelle.”

Alyson Hannigan, who worked with Michelle in the series, shared a carousel of photos of her with the late actress via Instagram and said that she was “deeply saddened by the news of Michelle's passing."

"She brought a loving energy to the set of Buffy. My thoughts are with Michelle's family and friends,” she added.

Michelle passed away on Wednesday, according to her public relations team.

The cause of her death is not known.

Born in 1985, Michelle rose to fame when she appeared in the Nickelodeon series "The Adventures of Pete & Pete" in 1994.

She was best known for her roles as Dawn Summers in the WB supernatural drama "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" in 2000 and as Georgina Sparks on the CW television series "Gossip Girl" in 2007.

She has also starred in the films "Killing Kennedy," "Sister Cities," and the science fiction film "The Scribbler."
