SAG Awards 2025: Timothée Chalamet becomes youngest artist to win Best Actor

Timothée Chalamet took home his first-ever Best Actor award from the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) for his lead role as Bob Dylan in the biopic “A Complete Unknown.”

At the SAG Awards 2025 held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, Timothée made history as the youngest artist to win the Best Actor award at 29, dethroning Nicolas Cage, who was given the recognition when he was 32 for “Leaving Las Vegas” in 1995.

In his acceptance speech, Timothée said he wants to be “one of the greats.”

“I know we’re in a subjective business, but the truth is, I’m really in pursuit of greatness,” he said.

“I know people don’t usually talk like that, but I want to be one of the greats. I’m inspired by the greats. I’m inspired by the greats here tonight,” he added.

For “A Complete Unknown,” Timothée, who is currently in a relationship with Kylie Jenner, said he dedicated “five and a half years” of his life to playing the role of Bob.

“I poured everything I had into playing this incomparable artist, Mr. Bob Dylan, a true American hero, and it was the honor of a lifetime playing him,” he said.

The Best Actor award marked Timothée’s first win and third individual nomination at the SAG Awards, following “Call Me By Your Name” in 2017 and “Beautiful Boy” in 2018.

Timothee also celebrated his Best Actor win on Instagram, where he posted photos of himself with his trophy.

"I WON I CANT BELIEVE IT !!!!!!! THANK YOU TO MY PEERS FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!!!!!!!" he said.

Congratulations!
