Barbie Hsu’s BFF in ‘Meteor Garden’ Rainie Yang mourns untimely passing of actress

Rainie Yang, who played Barbie Hsu’s best friend in “Meteor Garden,” took to Instagram to mourn the untimely passing of the Taiwanese actress.

In an Instagram Story, the singer and actress posted a black photo with a short message.

“Xiyuan, thank you. I will miss you forever and love you," Rainie wrote in Chinese and translated into English by Google.

Xiyuan is Barbie’s birth name.

Rainie played the character of Xiao You, one of Shan Cai’s (Barbie) best friends in the Taiwanese series that aired in 2001. She was also the love interest of Ken Chu’s character, Xi Men.

Earlier, Ken also took to Instagram to pay tribute to the actress.

Barbie passed away at the age of 48 due to pneumonia. The news was confirmed by her family and her agent through South China Morning Post and Focus Taiwan, Monday.

She is survived by her husband, South Korean musician DJ Koo, and her two children from her previous marriage with Wang Xiao Fei, whom she divorced in 2021.
