Mick Jagger mourns passing of Marianne Faithfull

Marianne Faithfull has died and among those mourning her passing is legendary rock n' roller Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones.

Mick shared an Instagram carousel post containing old photos of the British singer and actress that opened with a beautiful photo of the two of them and said he was "so saddened to hear of the death of Marianne Faithfull."

"She was so much part of my life for so long," he added, and called his ex-girlfriend "a wonderful friend, a beautiful singer and a great actress. She will always be remembered."

Mick and Marianne famously dated for four short years in the '60s. According to Consequence of Sound, she inspired a number of Rolling Stones hits including "You Can't Always Get What You Want" and "Wild Horses."

News of Marianne's death swept culture headlines on Friday morning. Citing a spokesperon, The BBC said Marianne "passed away peacefully in London today, in the company of her loving family."

She was 78.

On Facebook, her official page confirmed the news, posting a black and white photo of the rock n' roll icon and captioning it simply, "Marianne Faithfull, 29/12/1946 - 30/01/2025."

Joining Mick Jagger in mourning are his Stones bandmates Keith Richards, who offered his "heartfelt condolences" to her family and said "I am so sad and will miss her" and Ronnie Wood, who posted twice on Instagram.

"Farewell dear Marianne," he said in one of them.
