Ethan Hawke reminisced about “Before Sunrise” to celebrate the 30 years since the cult classic premiered.
On Instagram, the Hollywood actor shared a scene from the movie with his leading lady Julie Delpy. He also posted a photo of them in a theater, and another shot with filmmaker Richard Linklater.
“This time 30 years ago our movie ‘Before Sunrise’ debuted at Sundance,” Hawke wrote in his caption.
Per the actor, Sundance Film Festival founder Robert Redford himself introduced the film.
“Great night,” he added.
“Before Sunrise” follows Jesse (Ethan) and Céline (Julie) who meet on a train and spontaneously decide to spend a day together in Vienna, Austria.
After their short but sweet love affair, the two meet each other again at different phases in their lives. Their story continued in the films “Before Sunset” in 2004, and “Before Midnight” in 2013.
Aside from their work in the “Before” trilogy, Julie is best known for being in the films “Two Days and Paris” and “Three Colors: White,” whereas Ethan is known for “Training Day” and “Dead Poets Society.” Ethan also made a cameo in Taylor Swift’s “Fortnight” music video.
