NewJeans' Minji uses 'Pasilyo' by SunKissed Lola in new Instagram post

A well-loved OPM song has once again been noticed by a K-pop idol!

NewJeans’ Minji posted new portraits on Instagram, and she used SunKissed Lola’s hit song, “Pasilyo" to accompany it.

Filo Bunnies were delighted by Minji’s post, and posted on X that they could not believe she chose the song.

“SunKissed Lola's ‘Pasilyo’??? OMG am I seeing this right Minji chose this song,” a Bunny wrote.

“Minji knows ‘Pasilyo’ by SunKissed Lola???? She’s so real for that,” another fan said.

Meanwhile, SunKissed Lola reposted fans’ posts on X and Instagram Stories.

Minji is not the first K-Pop star to show appreciation for the OPM song. IU surprised fans with a cover of “Pasilyo” during her Philippine Arena concert in 2024.

NewJeans was last in the Philippines in September 2024, where they performed for Bunnies at the Coke Studio Ultimate Fandom concert.They first visited the country in 2023 as performers and awardees at the Asia Artist Awards.

Following months of legal back-and-forth with HYBE sublabel ADOR, NewJeans remained firm with their claim that their exclusive contract had already been terminated after alleged maltreatment.

With this, the five-piece K-Pop girl group opened a new Instagram account and treated fans who participated in the impeachment protest of South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol.

However, the record label says the contract remains valid. ADOR has filed a lawsuit to reaffirm the validity of NewJeans' exclusive contract to clarify to concerned parties that the contract cannot suddenly be terminated "based on one-sided claims."
