Paris Hilton raises $800,000 for California wildfire relief efforts
Paris Hilton, through her lifestyle and media company 11:11 Impact, raised $800,000 in emergency relief funds in 72 hours to help those affected by the California wildfires.
In a statement to Variety, Paris said $150,000 was already given to the GoFundMe Wildfire Relief Fund to provide direct cash assistance.
“My goal is to help as many as I can as quickly as possible,” Paris said in a statement. “Hundreds of families will receive this assistance immediately ensuring they can address their needs and begin to rebuild their lives today.”
The socialite and businesswoman added, “My heart is with everyone affected by this devastating situation, and my team and I at 11:11 Media Impact will continue to show up.”
Paris also said that she met people who were impacted by the wildfires.
“I heard heartbreaking stories of loss but also inspiring resilience,” she said.
Aside from raising funds, Paris has also been using her social media platform to highlight nonprofit organizations.
According to Variety, “A call to action for volunteers needed at Project Angel Food resulted in 8,000 responses in 48 hours, up from 3,800 volunteers in all of 2024.”
Paris has also been volunteering. She packed essential items for families in need at Baby2Baby, and fostered a dog from the Pasadena Humane Society who was surrendered due to the fires.
Paris and her family were among the personalities who lost their home in Pacific Palisade due to the California wildfires last week.
“Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience,” Paris said on social media.
She also said that 11:11 Impact reached out to nonprofit organizations to support those affected by the fires.
The California wildfires have killed at least 24 individuals and forced 100,000 people to evacuate. Over 150 Filipinos have sought help after losing their homes.
It also reportedly destroyed over 12,000 structures, including the homes of rich and famous personalities like Mandy Moore.
Lovi Poe earlier updated her followers about the situation in Los Angeles. “The fires have hit LA hard, and it’s tough seeing so much loss,” she said. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
