J-Hope of BTS has donated 100 million Korean won (around $68,000 or P3.8 million) to support the families of the victims of the fatal Jeju Air plane crash.
According to a report by AllKPop on Thursday, the South Korean idol sent the donation to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association.
"Upon hearing the news of the accident, I decided to make this donation to help the bereaved families as much as I can," J-Hope said in a statement.
He also offered his condolences to the grieving families.
"My heart goes out to those enduring this unimaginable pain," he added.
J-Hope is a member of the Hope Bridge Honor Club, per the report, which comprises "high-value" donors who support different causes and give aid to those who need it.
Previously, AllKPop reported that "Squid Game 2" star Im Siwan also donated through the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association in support of the families and victims affected by the tragedy.
On December 29, Jeju Air flight 7C2216 slammed into a wall and burst into flames as it attempted an emergency landing at Muan International Airport, killing 179 people on board. Two crew members survived the crash.
