Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt reach divorce settlement —report

After more than eight years, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have reached a divorce settlement.

In a statement released to media, including the PEOPLE, Angelina’s lawyer James Simon said the Hollywood actress is relieved about the divorce deal.

“[Angelina] and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family," the lawyer said in a statement.

"This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over," he added.

Meanwhile, Brad’s camp has yet to comment on the divorce deal.

Angelina filed for divorce from Brad in 2016 after being married for two years and in a relationship since 2005. They have six children.
