Teen actor Hudson Joseph Meek, who starred in 'Baby Driver,' passes away
American teen actor Hudson Joseph Meek, who starred in "Baby Driver," has passed away. He was 16 years old.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office via U.S. media outlets WVTM 13, CBS 42, and AL.com, Meek died after sustaining injuries when he reportedly fell from a moving vehicle in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. He succumbed to his injuries at UAB Hospital on December 21.
A statement was also posted on the young actor's Instagram account over the weekend announcing the heartbreaking news.
"Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight. His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met," the post read.
The post also asked for prayers for his family and friends as they cope with his untimely passing.
Meek's agency, J Pervis Talent Agency, honored his memory on social media, remembering him as an "extraordinary young talent, whose dedication, passion, and promise shone brightly within our industry."
"Hudson was more than just a talent, he was a source of inspiration and touched so many lives with his enthusiasm, kindness, smile and innate ability to light up a room and never meet a stranger. He will be remembered with great affection by us all," the agency said.
An obituary by the Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory stated that a celebration of Meek's life will be held on December 28 at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Homewood, Alabama.
A Hudson J. Meek Memorial Scholarship was also made in his honor, to be awarded every year to a student of his school, Vestavia Hills High School.
Meek played a young Miles "Baby" to Ansel Elgort's Miles character in the 2017 movie "Baby Driver."
He has also starred in "The Santa Con," "Genius," "The School Duel," and more, per IMDb.
