NewJeans opens new Instagram account; treats K-pop fans who joined impeachment protests

NewJeans has opened a new Instagram account!

On Saturday, the five-piece K-pop group made their first post under the username "jeanzforfree."

In the post, the group simply shared a white background with five bunny emojis, which is also the name of their fandom.

In the caption, NewJeans said they prepared pre-paid food at various restaurants and a cafe. According to reports, the treat is for any K-pop fan with a light stick who participated in the impeachment protest of South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol.

It was followed by a series of posts and Instagram stories by the members.

The new Instagram account comes after the members announced their decision to leave the ADOR in November due to alleged mistreatment and inaction on alleged breach of contract on part of the agency.

Following this, the HYBE sub-label filed a lawsuit to reaffirm the validity of NewJeans' exclusive contract.

Composed of Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein, NewJeans debuted  in 2022 with "Attention." More of their hit songs are "Super Shy," "Ditto" and "OMG."

They previously visited the Philippines to perform at "The Ultimate Fandom" concert in September.
