V of BTS mourns passing of dog Yeontan
V of BTS is mourning the death of his dog Yeontan.
The K-pop star took to his Instagram stories on Monday to announce the death of his beloved furry friend.
"Yeontan has embarked on a long journey to the dog stars," he said. "I thought a lot about how to tell you this, but I felt it was right to share this news with ARMY, who have shown so much love for Yeontan."
V also hoped that ARMYs would continue to remember Yeontan and "wish for his happiness even in the stars."
In a separate Instagram post, the 28-year-old idol shared some of his precious moments with Yeontan.
"Mr. Kim Yeontan," he simply wrote in the caption.
In 2023, V opened up about Yeontan's health saying that his pet survived two unsuccessful surgeries due to heart-related issues.
"Tan has a bad heart and had surgery twice. But both times it was unsuccessful. Every time it was unsuccessful, he could have died during the surgery. But his will kept him alive. I was so grateful that he fought for his life," V said in an episode of Pixid.
V and Yeontan have shared precious moments in the past years. The beloved dog often accompanied the K-pop idol on his milestones as a solo artist.
The pomeranian was featured on the album cover of V's debut album "Layover" in 2023.
The adorable dog was also in the music video for his song "Rainy Days" as well as in his cover of "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas."
Yeontan was also featured in the teaser image of V's upcoming cover song "White Christmas" with Bing Crosby, which is set to be released on December 7.
V, whose real name is Kim Taehyung, is currently serving the South Korean military.
