Cynthia Erivo grateful to creative team behind ‘Wicked’: ‘Thank you for bringing this Elphaba to life’
Cynthia Erivo, the actress behind Elphaba from “Wicked,” has nothing but gratitude for the creative team of the musical film.
On Instagram, Cynthia shared some snaps taken from the set of “Wicked,” showing the preparations they did to make a successful movie adaptation.
She also expressed gratitude to her creative team who helped bring her character to life.
“I can’t let opening weekend go by without mention of my spectacular, wonderful Green Team! Your hard work and dedication, tenacity and love, shines brightly through this film," Cynthia wrote.
"Grateful for all of your early mornings and late nights. Thank you for bringing this Elphaba to life,” she added.
Previously, Idina Menzel, the original Elphaba on Broadway’s “Wicked,” shared photos taken with the stars of the movie adaptation on Facebook.
“Wicked” follows the Good Witch Glinda and the Wicked Witch of the West Elphaba in their self-discovery journey in Shiz University.
Directed by Jon Chu, the film premiered in Philippine cinemas on November 20.
Aside from Cynthia, "Wicked" also stars Ariana Grande as Glinda, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero, and Jeff Goldbum as the Wizard, among others.
