Filipino actress Lourdes Faberes has joined the cast of "Avatar: The Last Airbender" Season 2.

Lourdes, who also starred in Netflix's "The Sandman" as Kate Fletcher, took to Instagram to share the exciting news to her fans.

"I’ve been sitting on this news for over a month now and I’m so thrilled to say I’m joining the [Avatar] family!" she wrote.

"This beautiful show explores so many of the things I deeply believe in like courage, friendship, resilience and that sometimes, the greatest adventure is finding somewhere to call home when the rest of the world is on fire. IKYK."

Lourdes will play the gender-swapped role of General Sung, one of the most trusted officers of the Earth Kingdom.

Per the actress, she is "almost always" the only East Asian on set throughout her entire acting career in the United Kingdom and Europe.

"To be amongst a whole sea of Asian talent makes my heart full," she said. "It's been such a long time coming."

Lourdes has also starred in "The Day of the Jackal," "Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre," "Boiling Point," and more.

Aside from Lourdes, other additions in the second season of "Avatar: The Last Airbender" include Chin Han (Long Feng), Justin Chien (King Kuei), Amanda Zhou (Joo Dee), Crystal Vu (Lady Beifong), Kelemete Misipeka (The Boulder), Hoa Xuande (Professor Zei), and Rekha Sharma (Amita).

Netflix Tudum announced on Wednesday that production of Season 2 has officially begun. While details about Season 2 are kept under wraps, executive producers Christine Boylan and Jabbar Raisani teased that viewers will get to witness the Earth Kingdom more in the next season.

"Avatar: The Last Airbender" premiered on Netflix in February. Following a successful first season, the streaming giant renewed the show for Seasons 2 and 3.

The Netflix show is based on the popular Nickelodeon animated series of the same name. It follows Aang and his friends as they try to end the Hundred Year War and Fire Lord Ozai's rule to bring peace back to the four nations: the Earth Kingdom, Air Nomads, the Fire Nation, and Water Tribe.

It stars Gorden Cormier as Aang, Kiawentiio as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, Dallas Liu as Zuko, and Miya Cech as Toph.
