GOT7's Jinyoung discharged from military, teases group comeback
GOT7's Jinyoung has been discharged from the South Korean military service.
The singer was welcomed by his fellow members BamBam and Yugyeom at the discharge event.
In an interview with Korean media after his discharge, the singer expressed his gratitude.
“I had a fun time with good friends for the past year and a half. I think I’ve become a strong person after joining the military. I promised the fans to return as a better person, and I think I was discharged in good health, so I wanted to express my gratitude to fans,” Jinyoung said, as published by Soompi.
Jinyoung also teased that GOT7 is “working hard” on their comeback album.
“The other members are also enlisting, so we want to release an album soon before [their enlistment] to repay fans. During my last vacation, we entered the album preparation stage while discussing amongst the members,” he said.
“I think [fans] can anticipate a GOT7 album soon. Please look forward to it a lot.”
On Instagram, Jinyoung also posted photos with a cake and banners celebrating his discharge.
Jinyoung’s drama, “The Witch,” which was filmed before his enlistment will also premiere in 2025. He will be shooting an upcoming drama with Park Bo Young.
Jinyoung enlisted in May 2023. Early that year, Jinyoung came to Manila for a fan meeting, reuniting with Pinoy fans after four years.
GOT7, composed of Jay B, Mark, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam, and Yugyeom debuted in 2014. They made a comeback in May 2022 with a self-titled album and music video for “NANANA.” The members have been working on solo projects in recent years.
