Courteney Cox pays tribute to Matthew Perry: 'Missing you today and always'
Courteney Cox marked one year since Matthew Perry's death with a short but sweet Instagram post.
The actress posted a throwback photoshoot of the "Friends" cast and a photo of Matthew smiling at her.
"Missing you today and always," Courteney wrote in the caption. She also tagged the Matthew Perry Foundation which helps those struggling with addiction.
Matthew and Courteney starred as Chandler and Monica in the hit sitcom "Friends," whose story started with a hilarious friendship, before falling in love, getting married, and starting a family together.
Their co-star Jennifer Aniston also posted a tribute to Matthew on his first death anniversary.
In October 2023, Matthew died of drowning at 54 years old.
A week after his death, the cast of "Friends"—Jennifer, Courteney, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc—issued a joint statement on his passing, saying they were left "utterly devastated." Several celebrities also mourned his death.
A December 2023 autopsy report showed Matthew died from "acute effects" of ketamine and other factors that caused him to lose consciousness and drown in his hot tub.
Five individuals were charged over Matthew's death including two medical doctors, his live-in assistant, a broker and a North Hollywood drug dealer known as "the Ketamine Queen," who has previously been linked to the overdose death of another man.
Early this month, one of two California doctors pleaded guilty to illegally distributing the drug ketamine.
