Niall Horan says Liam Payne's death 'just doesn't feel real'

Niall Horan has finally broken his silence following Liam Payne's death.

On social media Friday, Niall said he was "absolutely devastated" by the unfortunate event and said "it just doesn't feel real."

"Liam had an energy for life and a passion for work that as infectious. He was the brightest in every room and always made every feel happy and secure," Niall continued.

He also made sure to mention how he "will cherish every moment we had forever."

Liam died on Wednesday in Argentina. According to reports, he was still able to attend Niall's Oct. 2 concert in Buenos Aires.

In his statement, Niall mentioned how fortunate he feels "that I got to see him recently."

"I sadly didn't know that after saying goodbye and hugging him that evening, I would be saying goodbye forever. It's heartbreaking," he said.

Niall sent out his condolences to Liam's family, including Nicola and his son, Bear.

"Thank you for everything, Payno. Love you brother," Niall ended his note.

Niall is the last One Direction member to release a statement about Liam's death. Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, and Louis Tomlinson each mourned Liam late Thursday after One Direction released an official statement.
