Margot Robbie, Jacob Elordi to star in ‘Wuthering Heights’ film adaptation

Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi are set to star in the film adaptation of the Emily Brontë classic “Wuthering Heights.”

According to a report by Variety, the “Barbie” star will play the role of Catherine Earnshow while the Australian actor will be playing Heathcliff.

“Wuthering Heights” will be directed by Oscar-winning director Emerald Fennell, the filmmaker behind “Saltburn” which also starred Elordi.

Robbie previously starred in Greta Gerwig’s live-action adaptation of “Barbie,” alongside Ryan Gosling, Dua Lipa, and Will Ferrell.

The “Barbie” movie was the highest-grossing film of 2023, earning $1.4 billion and earned numerous accolades and nominations including a Golden Globe for the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement award.

Meanwhile, Elordi has played the role of the King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley in Sofiia Coppola’s autobiography film “Priscilla.” He currently stars in the American TV series “Euphoria” as Nate Jacobs.

"Wuthering Heights" is a classic tale of passionate love and revenge focused on Heathcliff, a brooding orphan, and his intense relationship with Catherine Earnshaw. After Catherine marries Edgar Linton, Heathcliff, filled with jealousy, seeks revenge on those who wronged him, creating a cycle of pain that impacts multiple generations.
