EXO's Baekhyun issues apology for indoor vaping video

Baekhyun of K-Pop group EXO on Monday issued an apology after he was criticized for a viral video showing him vaping inside a restaurant in Macau.

According to a translation by Soompi, a statement by entertainment agency INB100 explained that Baekhyun and his staff were unaware that electronic cigarettes were not allowed in the country.

“During a meal with the staff after performing in Macau, Baekhyun unconsciously used an electronic cigarette as the conversation deepened. Baekhyun feels deeply sorry for disappointing many fans due to his careless actions,” the statement read.

In a notice posted in Macau’s tourism website in January, it was stated that importation of e-cigarettes were banned from the country and it was prohibited to bring or take out an e-cigarette in Macau.

Violators would be fined MOP4,000 or almost P28,000 as a fine.

The agency’s statement promised that Baekhyun and their staff will be more vigilant in the future and will “strive to act more maturely.”
