Emmys 2024: ‘The Bear’ star Liza Colón-Zayas makes history as first Latina to win Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series

“The Bear” actress Liza Colón-Zayas just made “herstory” at the Emmy Awards 2024 as the first Latina to be named Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.

Liza was recognized for her stellar performance as Tina in the hit series “The Bear.”

“To all the Latinas who are looking at me, keep believing, and vote, vote for your rights,” the actress said in her acceptance speech.

Other “The Bear” actors also received awards from The Emmys, including Jeremy Allen White as Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Outstanding Supporter Actor in a Comedy Series.

The Bear” follows the story of a fine dining chef who comes home to Chicago to run his family sandwich shop after his brother died.

The Emmy Awards 2024 was held Sunday evening at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

The annual Primetime Emmy Awards is known as the highest honors in television, with winners chosen by almost 22,000 directors producers, performers, and other key constituents of the Television Academy.

The Emmy Awards 2023 was held just in January this year when strikes held by Hollywood writers and actors delayed last year's awarding ceremony.
