Seventeen's Jeonghan to begin military service on September 26

Jeonghan of Seventeen is set to begin his military service on September 26.

Seventeen's label Pledis Entertainment shared the announcement through a Weverse post on Thursday.

“We wish to share the news of Jeonghan’s upcoming enlistment into the military, scheduled for September 26, 2024,” the label said. “As announced before, he will not be able to take part in the promotional activities for SEVENTEEN’s 12th mini album and the world tour. However, he will appear in various pre-recorded content.”

Pledis said that there will be no official event of the day of his enlistment and requested fans to refrain from visiting the site of his military service. They instead encouraged Carats to send heartfelt messages of support for Jeonghan through Weverse.

Ending their post, they asked for the fans' continued love and support for the K-pop star.

“Kindly send your best wishes for his safe and healthy return. We will also stay committed to providing JEONGHAN with all the necessary support during this time,” they wrote.

In August, Pledis announced that Jeonghan will be skipping group activities starting the latter half of 2024 to prepare for his military enlistment. This includes their “Right Here” world tour scheduled to start in October.

Jeonghan’s last appearance with Carats was the Lollapalooza Berlin on September 8.

Seventeen announced their Right Here world tour in late July. It will have an Asian leg and will kick off in South Korea in October.

The K-pop group released "17 is Right Here," their greatest hits album, in April.

In January, Seventeen had two sold-out concerts at the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bulacan for their Follow tour. The concert film from the tour premiered in Philippine cinemas on August 21.

They also had a pop-up shop from January to February at SM City North EDSA, featuring products from the artist-made collection.
