Jin of BTS expresses gratitude to ARMYs after torchbearer moment at 2024 Paris Olympics
Jin of BTS has nothing but gratitude for his beloved ARMYs who supported him during his stint as torchbearer of South Korea at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
On Monday night, Jin went live via WeVerse and talked about his Olympics experience. He also thanked his fans who came and watched him, saying their cheers gave him “strength.”
“I was so thankful that so many fans came, and it became such a strength to me that fans came and cheered me on. I was able to see so many ARMYs, and it gave me strength,” he said during the live, as translated by a fan account (@miiniyoongs) on X (formerly Twitter).
Jin also took to Instagram to share some handsome selfies of him holding the Olympic flame at the Louvre Museum in Paris.
“I am handsome,” he simply wrote in Korean, and translated into English by Instagram.
Jin was the torchbearer of South Korea for this year’s Olympics and carried the Olympic flame which signals the start of the Olympics games.
The Summer Olympics is a major international multi-sport event normally held every four years. This year, it will take place in Paris, from July 26 to Aug. 11.
Jin was discharged from the military in June after enlisting in December 2022. He served for 18 months.
In a recent interview with Weverse magazine, Jin said he is hard at work on his solo album.
With the rest of BTS still serving in the military, the South Korean boy band is expected to reconvene in 2025.
