Blackpink's Jennie apologizes for vaping indoors

Blackpink's Jennie has apologized to the public after she was seen vaping indoors.

On X (formerly Twitter), Jennie's label Odd Atelier released a statement addressing the controversy.

"We sincerely apologize to everyone who felt uncomfortable with Jennie's actions in the content released on July 2," the agency began.

According to them, Jennie has "acknowledged and deeply regretted her mistake of vaping indoors and causing inconvenience to the staff."

The K-pop star has also apologized personally to all the staff onsite who may have been affected.

Ending the post, the agency also apologized to the fans who have been disappointed.

"We apologize to her fans who have been disappointed through this incident. We hope to prevent this from reoccurring in the future."

According to a report by Soompi, a video of Jennie vaping indoors fueled controversy in social media on July 8.

As seen in the footage that was part of a vlog uploaded to Jennie's YouTube channel on July 2, the K-pop singer was vaping indoors while getting her makeup done and blowing smoke towards the staff. The scene has since been deleted.

In December, Jennie launched her own label, Odd Atelier, which will focus on her promotions as a solo artist.

This comes after YG Entertainment officially confirmed that all Blackpink members have renewed the exclusive contract for their group activities with the label.

In June, she launched her own TikTok account.

Jennie made her solo debut in 2019 with the song "SOLO."
