Jin of BTS on his discharge from military: 'I cried during the ceremony'

Jin of BTS admitted that he became emotional when he completed his mandatory military service.

The global superstar touched base with his beloved ARMYs in his first WeVerse live since his discharge, where he was seen still wearing his military uniform.

In front of him were cakes and pastries and at the wall behind him were pink and purple balloons and letters spelling "Jin is back."

"I'm normally more handsome but I cried during the ceremony so my eyes are swollen," he said. "I'm so happy and I cried. I cried twice, I wasn't going to cry."

Jin also proudly shared the awards he earned during his service.

"I got about 7-8 awards. I did a great job in the military," he said.

Jin was reunited with other BTS members RM, J-Hope, V, Jimin, and Jungkook after his discharge. The five of them, who are also actively serving in the military, took a leave of absence so they could greet Jin outside the base.

Suga joined them later for a complete group photo, their first in a long while.

Jin is the first member of BTS to complete his military service. The group is expected to reconvene in 2025.

Meanwhile, Jin will lead the group's celebration for their 11th anniversary on Thursday. He will give out hugs to lucky fans at an in-person event for ARMYs on this year's BTS FESTA.
