BigHit Music officially announces Jin of BTS's upcoming military discharge

ARMYs, the moment we've been waiting for is almost here!

BigHit Music on Tuesday formally announced Jin's discharge from the South Korean military in a Weverse statement.

The BTS vocalist is scheduled to end his conscription on Wednesday, June 12.

"Please note that the discharge day is reserved for military personnel only," the statement said. "No special events are planned on the day of Jin’s discharge. To prevent any issues arising from overcrowding, fans are strongly advised to refrain from visiting the site. Please convey your warm regards and encouragement in your hearts."

"We are always grateful for your unwavering love and support for Jin. Our company will continue to put our utmost effort into supporting our artists," it added. "Thank you once again for your continued love and support for BTS."

Jin is the first BTS member to be discharged from the military. He enlisted in December 2022.

Prior to enlistment, he made his official solo debut with “The Astronaut,” co-written by Coldplay, which made it to music charts just shortly after its release.

The rest of BTS are currently still in active military service. The supergroup is set to reconvene in 2025. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
