Penn Badgley grateful to be in Ariana Grande's 'The Boy is Mine' MV
For a change, Penn Badgley plays a hopeless stalking victim in Ariana Grande's "The Boy is Mine" music video. It's the total opposite of his character, Joe Goldberg, a serial stalker and killer, in the Netflix hit series "YOU."
In Ari's MV, the Hollywood actor plays a newly elected mayor who releases stray cats in the streets to address rat infestation.
Ariana, meanwhile plays a cat mom who doesn't stop stalking the mayor until they become a couple.
On Instagram, Penn expressed his gratitude to Ariana and her team, saying, "The boy may be yours, but the pleasure was all mine."
She thanked the singer "for inviting me into your orbit" and MV director Christian Breslauer, "for building a little world to play in for a day."
Penn couldn't resist telling a joke and added. "Hey, ma, I'm in a music video!"
"The Boy is Mine" is part of Ariana's latest album, "Eternal Sunshine," released in March. It also includes the singles, "yes, and?" and "we can't be friends (wait for your love)."
Meanwhile, "YOU" Season 5, the series's final part, began production in New York City in March.
