Simon Cowell is looking for ‘future megastars’ for next boyband

Simon Cowell is looking for ‘future megastars’ for next boyband

Is Simon Cowell looking to create the next One Direction?

That seems to be the case as the TV personality and record producer announced he will be holding an audition for “future megastars” that will be part of his next boyband.

In an Instagram reel, Cowell was shown launching a billboard in the United Kingdom that called for candidates for his next boyband project.

“I need you!” he wrote on his Instagram caption.

"Stop scrolling. This is the moment to change your life. The poster basically says I need you," he said in the video.

The “X Factor UK” judge also made a website where candidates can send their applications and learn more about the auditions.

According to the website, the audition is open for all 16-18 years old and is a legal resident of the United Kingdom and the United States. Auditions are set to take place in July.

The auditions for Simon's next boy band is a massive opportunity because Simon is basically the guy behind One Direction.

Composed of Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik (until left the group in March 2015), One Direction was formed through the talent competition “X Factor UK” back in 2010.

One Direction would became “one of the biggest boy bands in the world,” releasing mega hits such as “What Makes You Beautiful” and “One Thing.”

Following Malik's 2015 departure, the group went into an indefinite hiatus the following year before each member launched their respective solo careers.
