Original Super Junior members reunite at Ryeowook’s wedding
Super Junior members, both former and current, have reunited at fellow member Ryeowook’s wedding, tugging fans’ heart strings. It's been more than a decade since Super Junior was complete as a group, after all.
On Instagram, Chris Lee of SM Entertainment shared a heartwarming group photo of the 15 members that showed Ryeowook and his bride, former TAHITI member Ari, posing for a snap with current active members Leeteuk, Kim Heechul, Yesung, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Choi Siwon, and Kyuhyun.
“Super Junior assemble,” the caption read.
Sungmin, who is on hiatus from Super Junior activities, was there along with former members Kangin, Kim Ki Bum and Hangeng.
Henry Lau and Zhoumi of Super Junior M also graced the wedding.
On X (formerly Twitter), fans can’t help but turn emotional with their reunion.
“The best thing that happened in 2024. Super Junior OT15,” a fan wrote.
“Super Junior ot15 in 2024. I have never been this emotional about anything kpop-related ever i'm literally crying,” another user said.
Super Junior debuted in 2005 with 13 members. Three years later, Chinese sub-unit Super Junior M debuted in 2008 with Chinese members Henry and Zhoumi joining the line-up.
The group later on became one of the most successful K-pop groups of their time with their mega hits “Sorry Sorry” and “Mr. Simple.”
It was in 2009 when Super Junior was last complete. In December that year, just months after the release of “Sorry Sorry,” Hangeng filed a contract termination lawsuit against SM Entertainment.
Kim Ki Bum, meanwhile, left the company in 2015 to focus on his acting, while Henry left in April 2018. Kangin left Super Junior in 2019 due to personal issues.
Ryeowook and Ari got married in a garden wedding at Bonellie Garden in Seoul on May 26 after confirming their relationship in 2020. He is the second member of the group who tied the knot following Sungmin in 2014.
